Mombo Camp Dining
Comfort and Delicious Dining
The main areas at Mombo are raised on wooden decking under cool
thatch. Situated to look over the widest part of the floodplain, an
area often visited by vast numbers of game including all the
predators, the views from the communal areas are stunning; it is
not uncommon to be overlooking the floodplain enjoying views of a
diverse selection of wildlife found in the area.
The dining area, complete with a vast eucalyptus carved table,
chunky made-to-order silver cutlery and canvas and teak directors
chairs, has its own decking area where al fresco meals are served
under the stars. Dining at Mombo is one of the camp's priorities,
and something it excels at - tuna carpaccio and chili calamari
being just a couple of tasters of the head chef Craig's menu - not
many camps will attempt and succeed at seafood in a landlocked
country!
Ultimate Relaxation
The living area also overlooks the open plain in front of the
camp. Huge comfy leather sofas with velvet cushions often capture a
tired guest who has intended to relax for a few minutes (Gin and
Tonic left un-drunk on the sea grass coffee table!). The open
fronted area is surrounded by polished mahogany floors that lead
away to the bar and onto the camp's library - an area that provides
the perfect respite to relax and shy away with a good book or
recent game viewing report.
Hidden away to the left of the main area is the camp's plunge
pool; a welcome respite to escape the heat of the day.
